Do i need to be a certified (as in have a certificate from a course) to start my Own Wedding planning business
PLEASE HELP!! DESPERATE . So instead of having completed a course learn by reading books on planning a wedding- being a Wedding Planner, internet etc – no certificate

It really depends where you are and how the market perception is towards wedding planners in your area. I seriously doubt that many potential customer would even bother to know what the qualifications are.
What is more important is the track record and your credibility. Wedding is not something that you can redo if you find the experience unsatisfactory.
To start up it is best to build your support network and marketing channel. Collect testimonials and build the reputation. market it well and do not over strech your resources. Wedding planning business is more like a relationship referral business and usually people take it once and all those that attend the function will be a good marketing agents. Make sure that all the guest have a good time and know who helped them have a good time.
Another advise is, please differenciate yourself. Be noticably different from the others in a good way.
