What kind of business should I register my photography company as? LLC, Private Owner, etc?
I am starting a photography studio that will mostly work on location for weddings/events/birthdays, etc. and hire photographers to shoot and editors to edit and customer service reps to serve customers.
It will start small and hopefully get bigger but it will not be the next best buy, glamor shots, or sam’s club. What kind of business should this be registered as with the county/state? I don’t want to end up paying double taxes or having liability issues.
Just Go to the County Court House and Fill out a D.B.A.( Doing Business As) form and file it. If you wish to Incorporate you can do that at any time. Make sure that you Buy ” General Liability “. For a Photography Business, this should be Very Cheap. I Carry a 2 Million Dollar General Liability Policy for my ” Hot Shot” Service.
