Cupcake Stand
Any ideas for cupcake transporting??
My sons birthday is the 12th and he wants me to make those cupcakes that you bake in ice cream cones for his class, but I’m thinking to myself, how the heck am I going to get 25 of them to school??? They have to stand upright without touching or falling over or they’ll get all messed up. Any ideas on how I’d do this?

Measure the circumference of the bottom of the icecream cone and trace 25 of the circles onto the bottom of a deep (think 3+ inches) cardboard shirt box. Cut out the circles with an exacto knife or box cutter to make sure they stay uniform. Place the icecream cones into the circles (test one unbaked one first to make sure it fits snugly – this also makes for an excellent cooling rack.) For the drive over, place the box on top of a cookie sheet (the kind with slightly upturned edges) so it will not move around. Place toothpicks in the tops of the cupcakes to prevent plastic wrap from sticking to the frosting (sometimes tented aluminum foil works even better since it will stand up on its own.) Have someone go with you and sit in the passenger’s seat to hold it steady.
If you had the time, you could frost them when you got to the school. To do this super fast, use a pastry bag and pipe the frosting on with a thick tip. (I’ve done this and frosted a hundred+ cupcakes in under 30 minutes.)
